Hi there and welcome to my mail shot for June. As I write, things are just about to kick off at Judgement Sundays at Eden in Ibiza, with the opening party on Sunday 8th. To say I’m looking forward to it is an understatement- I’m virtually bouncing off the walls in anticipation. You can always rely on Ibiza to show you a good time, and to show you a few other eye-opening sights as well – last year I spotted a tremendously flamboyant gay couple, dressed all in pink, with a dyed- pink poodle casually strolling down the street in Ibiza town – and no one batted an eyelid.
So the sixteen-week Judgement Sundays season is upon us, with a super-strong main room line up (see below for more details), plus the boys from Good For Nothing fortnightly in room two, bringing some of the most influential names in indie dance for a spin on Eden’s decks. On alternate Sundays, the second room plays host to Northern legends Kissdafunk – I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what Rob Tissera, Micky Slim and the others have got up their sleeves.
Rob Tissera, Kissdafunk’s resident, is in charge of the guest mix on this year’s ‘Judgement Sundays The Mix 2008’ compilation which is released on June 9th (click the link below to find out more).

On my disc, I’ve tried to deliver the signature sound of Judgement Sundays and the ‘real sound of Ibiza’, and Rob has showcased the kind of tracks you’re likely to hear in the Kissdafunk room. I’m really happy with the finished product- I hope you agree that the artwork really makes the album stand out from the rest.
Also on the album front, I’m pleased to say I’ve finally put the finishing touches to my second studio album, which should be out at the latter end of the summer. I’ve provisionally called it ‘Silver’ – primarily because I think a silver cover would look fantastic - although I’m slightly concerned about the ‘silver anniversary’ connotations, and people thinking I’ve released an album to mark 25 years’ dj’ng. Suffice to say, I haven’t been doing it that long! If anyone has any suggestions for great album titles then drop me a line on jules@judgejules.net
Elsewhere, I’ve recently been on a nine day tour of Canada and the States, where I was lucky to play some awesome gigs (check out the pictures on the gallery page of my newly revamped website). At the end of the trip, I was joined by the rest of my family and we had a great time visiting Disneyland, Seaworld and of course, lots of shops. Although I’ve visited LA frequently, it was the first time that I’ve spotted any stars. On this trip we saw Lindsay Lohan talking on her mobile at the side of the road near our hotel, and Liv Tyler playing with her kid in Santa Monica…
A week after my celebrity-spotting and fun gigs in the US, I was spinning at one of the smallest Saturday night venues I’ve visited all year, in Hereford, England. It was packed, with a very excited and in-your-face crowd – absolutely brilliant.
I’m off to pack my bags for Ibiza, catch you next time…
